GDS-20 | Distortion Pedal

$45

The word "distortion" jumped in use beginning in the 1950's... we attribute that to electric guitars.

When you start talking about Distortion and Overdrive pedals, it's important to remember the differences between the two. Overdrive pedals achieve their effect by exploiting the gain of an audio signal. The lower the gain, the warmer and more subtle it is. The higher the gain, the more drastic it is. Distortion, on the other hand, impacts low and high gain signals equally by clipping the peaks of the signal's sine wave regardless of volume level. The CNZ GDS-20 is a great workhorse distortion pedal. It gives you Level, Gain, and Tone controls while also letting you choose between 3 types of distortion via a toggle-switch. All of it fits in our standard "mini" case. Whether you like your distortion subtle and dark or obvious and bright, you'll love this pedal.

      Detailed Operation

The Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal from CNZ Audio fills a broad range in the the distortion spectrum. This is the pedal for you if you are looking to add a slight, rough edge to your classic style or dive deep into distortion with classic heavy metal!

Three distinct types of distortion are available by using the 3 position Toggle Switch on the pedal. The normal setting gives a softer, warmer tone, while the tight setting has a bit more dirt and higher end tone than the normal setting. The classic setting has an extremely dirty sound for the metal head. Between all 3 choice, every end of distortion is covered on this pedal.

The Level knob essentially adjusts the volume or output from the pedal. For more output, turn it clockwise and for less, turn it counterclockwise. Using this level knob makes it easy to control the level from the pedal to match just the right amount of sound.

The Tone knob allows you to adjust the literal tone from this pedal. Turning it clockwise will bring out a more high end sound that's good for solos and turning it counterclockwise brings out a warmer, less dirty sound and fills your music well.

The Gain knob in the middle allows for adjusting the amount of distortion in the overall mix of the pedal. For more distortion, turn it clockwise and for less distortion, turn it counterclockwise. Using this feature will help to create just the right amount of drive for the sound you need.
